In Ayurveda, Anemia is referred to as PANDUROG. The imbalance of Agni, the digestive fire, which eventually results in the development of Ama, is the pathophysiology of anemia. 

Pitta, which is disseminated throughout the body by exacerbated Vata, is the source of this disruption. Anemia is a condition that frequently causes the body’s Agni to be out of balance. The amount of hemoglobin decreases as a result. 

The risk of experiencing issues that harm the heart and lungs increases if anemia is not treated. The body’s hemoglobin concentration falls below the recommended amount of 15 gm/100 ml of blood. 

It results in weakness, exhaustion, and shortness of breath. The heart palpitations are also frequently severe. Anemia contributes to a number of health problems, including headache, nausea, vomiting, weakness, dyspnea, giddiness, and palpitations.

CAUSES
Common causes of anemia include decreased production, increased breakdown, or significant loss of red blood cells. RBC production is reduced by iron, thyroxine, vitamin B12, vitamin C, and folate deficiency, while their destruction is accelerated by a variety of diseases, toxins, antibodies, and congenital structural defects.

The main reason behind anemia

1. Hemoglobin deficiency: In the body’s red blood cells (RBCs) hemoglobin transports oxygen. The size of the RBCs decreases when insufficient hemoglobin is produced, which results in an insufficient flow of oxygen. Iron insufficiency is the cause of insufficient hemoglobin production.

2. Excessive RBCs: Excessive RBCs are brought on by a folic acid or vitamin B12 deficiency. The obstruction of oxygen flow occurs when RBCs grow too large to fit through blood arteries.

SYMPTOMS
